Obligation & Inspiration

Two heavy Icons! Always taking chances to overpower the other.

I have been torn between the two.

Obligation! Well it is one’s moral imperative to choose this, ain’t it?  Get on with the duty and stride ahead with the responsibilities. Everyone has responsibilities and the way to a successful and secure life is to abide them. There isn’t any doubt about that right!

Inspiration on the other hand! Hmm well it is inspiration- the feeling one gets to do something amazingly wonderful by putting your heart and soul into it. You create a thing with your imagination, ingenuity and intuition. It feels that you are at the behest of passion enraptured with inner peace.

Can they both walk the same path? I leave it to you to figure out the answer.

Well I have been bogged by it, trying to work a middle path. But my heart wants to follow Inspiration although my mind is impressed by Obligation.

It is hard to make a decision but I think I have, for I have realized a lot many things with my heart than my mind!

Have you been at this crossroad? Is yes, whom did you choose?

Bucket List

Ahh I have watched the movie a zillion times and each time I watch it, I am inspired and get caught on  a different perspective.

Of course I am bit by the travel bug and I gather all my spirit to plan the next travel.

Are you actually waiting for a particular time to do the things on your bucket list? Well I was waiting too but then it seemed stupid to wait for the right time. It is always the right time, you just have to make one decision, THE DECISION to go for it no matter what!

So are you still waiting? Come on get going…. NOW! And do things that you have always wanted to do….

What would you do?

If you had just one day, one month or one year to live what would you do?

I have asked this question to myself a lot lately. The answer which I get back has kept me going the past year and still does.

It’s all but one simple question which has all the answers; but then it is all lost in the midst of gathering courage to DO it!

Would you have the best dinner with your family? Would you travel the world or the one place which you call home? Would you go to the beach or the mountain to find your mojo? Would you write a letter to the people who matter to you the most? Would you have an intelligent conversation with the people that matter to you or who get you? Would you just buy a ticket to anywhere and just go on a blind vacation? Would you ride/drive to no particular destination until you find yourself? Would you learn to garden or play a guitar? Would you take long walks in the park? Would you get a pet dog/ pet anything? Would you thank the people that have made the best of you in this life? Would you sing or dance in the rain? Would you get on stage and do what you always wanted to do; be it sing, dance, speak?  Would you love life with all your heart and believe in the miracle called LIFE?

What would you do? Let’s see if you will do the above or something else altogether? I am all ears..

Well both are the same! Ain’t it?

You certainly live once and die once…. Why is it that we do not take this to heart?

I have always pondered that everything out here is once in a lifetime opportunity and shouldn’t we be grateful for all the things that this world offers. We are so zombied with the mundane things of a boring job, materialistic cravings, unnecessary dramas that we tend to forget the beauty of life, the miracle called LIFE!

Strange… we want happiness, peace but why do we still work on things that we don’t cherish.

It would be sheer awesome if you on the other hand is enjoying life to the fullest and working on things that make your soul happy…… Well you would be the person who truly understands YOLO or YODO! Cheers!

So how many of you out there, ring in with YOLO?

Fathom Beauty?

“Why should you think that beauty, which is most precious thing in the world, lies like a stone on the beach for the careless passer-by to pick up idly? Beauty is something wonderful and strange that the artist fashions out of the chaos of the world in the torment of his soul. And when he has made it, it is not given to all to know it. To recognize it you must repeat the adventure of the artist. It is a melody that he sings to you and to hear it again in your own heart you want knowledge and sensitiveness and imagination.”

I was spellbound by the above lines. It is from the classic “The Moon and the Sixpence” by Somerset Maugham. The lines are so true, a thing of beauty to be expressed by someone and to be understood by another is entirely subjective and may still not be understood. But if one does delve in the journey of someone and understand from their perspective and still think “it” to be beautiful…. well wouldn’t we fathom beauty in the same utter sense!
