Yes I flew!

As I was at the edge of the door of a plane, my heart missed a beat. Before I could actually step back and muster my courage, I was moved ahead into space. Gravity, Sky, Earth and the little me rushed. I took of a few seconds to figure out the space around. And then it was pure free fall. I could not hear the tandem instructor but he had given me the necessary instructions a few minutes back.

“You may find it scary but give into the adventure, I will take care of you!” Dan said this as he tapped my shoulders just before we made the jump.

The free fall was crazy, scary but it was awesome. The adrenaline rush, the speed, the view around was just brilliant. I gave into the adventure. It was mad rush to the ground from 12000 feet.

“So how many times have you skydived, Dan?

“This is my second.”

I stared at him.

“Well second for the day,” he giggled. “How many times would make you feel better?”

“I mean from when did you start skydiving?”

“Oh well, I have skydived like 9000 times.”

“Wow!” I was amazed. “I am sure you won’t be bored at your job?”

“Never! And we keep travelling all over the world to demonstrate skydiving. So I enjoy it a lot.”

Coming to the free fall, I was enjoying the moment, posing for the photographer ahead 😉

It was overwhelming and splendid.

Just as we reached 5000 feet, Dan signalled and opened the parachute. And we floated up a bit. I was relieved that it opened.

After that we glided around and the moment was perfect. Dan handed over the controls to me and I swayed a bit. There was utter silence, I could see the horizon, the trees, land below and a couple of lakes. The sky was azure blue and the sun shining brightly at us.

Dan took over the controls and spinned around. And then he glided towards the landing area.

Well it was a perfect landing. I was super elated and excited about the entire experience. Thanked Dan and team for the wonderful experience.

I have always envied the birds for they can fly anywhere they want with no passport, no visas and no hassles of travel. Well, they can experience the freedom and cherish the flight whenever they want. They always get to enjoy nature; the rivers, the oceans, the mountains, the sky, the sunrises, sunsets and many things more.

Well I SKYDIVED and got to fly at least for a few seconds. I am glad I survived it too 😉

Journey: Poetry

Passion burns like a raging fire

Adrenaline rushes like the mighty rivers

Mind is anxious before the start

Soul dances like the butterfly

There isn’t a moment which passes

Without thinking about the Journey

For it is a new beginning, a new start

Much like a brand new life!

Throwback Thursday! Why do I trek?

Perks of trekking!

SHOEPENLENS

“Somewhere between the bottom of the climb and the summit is the answer to the mystery why we climb.” (Greg Child)

So the quote says it all but what is the mystery?

A peek  into my initial days of trekking…

Well, I started trekking just for the heck of it, for pure adrenalin rush and for the amazing view at the summit. It held good, be it the Western Ghats in Karnataka, Kerala & Maharashtra.  Since I was in my early 20s,  I loved racing up the mountain!

Happiness of Cycling again!

Aha…. Almost 15 years since I rode a bicycle aka bike.

I couldn’t say ‘No’ to my nephew when he wanted me to accompany him for biking. So, I took to the pedal.

I thought I would lose balance, fall, scrap my elbow and knee…… But it turned out that I still had the knack of cycling.

I grinned at my nephew and we both took to the road.

The joy; the muscles wondering ‘Whoa we are in for a long ride!’, the shoulders flexing themselves to give it their best, the feet holding up and moving swiftly to get ahead, the hands balancing to keep the machine running, the face thrilled with the gush of air against it, the head aiming for a wonderful ride, the soul happy to be flying again!

Well, got to go cycling…. See ye

Ladakh……had always been on my mind ever since I had read about it on the internet, social media and heard from a few  friends about the grandeur of the mountains out there. So, it was on my bucket list….

Catching up with my friend at my place and talking about life, life n life…….. paved way for the brilliant idea….”Let’s do something crazy. Let’s travel to Ladakh!Let’s do it!”

After researching over the weekend on the how to’s and when to’s…. we hit upon a  travel agency and they said it’s possible in September and they could arrange with transportation and accommodation for the places that we wanted to visit.

Well, we were excited and finalized in on September….

Meanwhile, I did check with my traveller friend and he suggested that we do the trip ourselves and that he would help us with the plan…..

“Why not! That’s…

If Money was taken care of forever, for you and your family….. what would you do with your life?

I was inspired to write this post after reading an article from Bruce Kasanoff on similar lines.

Say, money will be taken care of for the rest of your life, for you and your family……

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

I am not interrogating you but think for yourself-“What would be the one thing or many things that you would do?”

Maybe you will find the answer to what you have been seeking or find out what your passion is or find out the things that bring you happiness and peace or you will be absolutely satisfied with the things that you are already doing now; That is just super awesome.

It may be a the first step to make some changes to your life and add in the things or passions that bring in happiness and peace.

Question yourself now!

I would be happy to hear the things or the list of things that you want to do but if you want to keep it to yourself and work on it …. so be it!

What would you do with or in your life if Money was taken care of forever for you and your family?
